    Nice, reasonably priced notebook.
The paper in this is great for any medium. I’ve used it for charcoal, colored pencil, water color, ink and pencil. The price is right on par with others of its kind. The cover on this is pretty heavy duty and the spiral bind is holding up nicely after romping around in my back back for a few weeks. I recommend buying the two pack of these offered online, it’s basically a two for one. Now, I don’t like the green color of the cover. Other pads of this brand have much more aesthetically pleasing covers. If I can get them for the same price I’d happily buy the other, better looking notepads. It’s a decent pad at an average price. I’ve got no complaints.

    Quality Paper for Most Mediums
This is a good quality paper. The binding is well constructed to afford easy page turning. Great value with 100 pages. Plenty to keep your artist busy creating. Works well with pen, pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, colored pencils and marker with no bleed to the next page. The paper is thick enough not to transfer heavy impressions from the previous and as stated above markers do not bleed through. The cover is durable enough to handle to carrying around in backpacks and bookbags with out tearing. Overall for your basic artist that loves to draw or doodle or any art student this is a good purchase.

    Great Quality
We received the Sax Artist Sketch Diary for our daughter who is in middle school. It is a lot to pay for a first sketch pad, but it was worth the five dollars and change that it costs. The price fits in with other sketch pads with similar features. The features of this pad include acid free paper that accepts lots of different kinds of media and inks. The description does not say anything about water colors, but the pages are thick, so it moght be a good choice for that too. We have not tried that though. Also, another feature is that it is ring bound so it is easy to open every time and very durrable. We like the sketch pad and so does our daughter. It endures a full back pack and the life of a middle school student!

Nice product for the creative mind and idle hands
This is a very durable and attractive sketch book, which can be used for sketching, drawing, doodling or just plain writing. The book has been spiral bound so that each page turns individually and with efficiency. The cover is glossy and thick for protection and the back is thick cardboard. It is very sturdy. The pages are bright white, unlined and the dimensions are 8 ½” x 11” or regular size paper. Since this sketch book has been designed as a creative diary, there are no perforations for removing the pages easily, so if you want to remove a page, you have to be careful and tear with the spiral.

In trying to thoroughly evaluate the sketch book, I used several different types of drawing and writing instruments to draw pictures, doodles and all sorts of written works, especially lists. I make lists for everything under the sun, so having a nice, big pad to make my lists on is a treat. I can even tie items on one list to items on another. Crayons work great, as do their liquid equivalent Crayola markers. I did not try watercolors or oil paints, but can honestly say that my Pilot Precise colored pens did a fantastic job doodling and drawing. As for my lists, I used anything that I could put my hands on and they all worked but Sharpies. They bled through, but not to the next page. I hope that this helps if you are in the mood for expressing yourself or looking for a creative outlet. I highly recommend the Sax Artists Sketch Diary.

    Perfect!
My 9 year old daughter is not into toys… She is very creative. Anything that gets her creative juices flowing… I search the stores for art supplies of all kinds and try to keep her art supplies full for when the creativity strikes. Recently I got her a ton of colored pencils. One of every possible color they make. This is perfect for an artist in the works. 🙂 Her art teacher at school is so nice. My daughter comes home often telling me how talented she is and how she inspired her to draw. Recently it’s been wolves and people. Before trees and flowers. This book is high quality paper. It’s so fun to see her all curled up on the couch, eyes crunched together in concentration thinking of what to draw and carefully etching it into her special art book. She can sit for hours and hours drawing given the chance. Carefully she will line up the pencils in a rainbow ever so carefully so when she needs a color it’s right there at the ready. We have a special spot in her room for her art papers so we can go back and flip through her drawings. She really has progressed. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

The sketch pad and the Cray-Pas were requested together as they would be used together. For that reason, the review covers both items. The sketch pad paper felt like a good weight paper. It was a good thickness and seemed to be a good quality. It was bright white and the colors of the oil pastels showed up nicely. The cra-pas consisted of 48 colors and an extra black and a white oil pastels. The pastels were easy to work with. Colors easily blended if you chose to do that. The variations of colors were impressive. The grandkids also used them. My grandson did a fish and my granddaughter did a vase for me. Neither is an artist but they both enjoyed using the cra-pas. They said they liked the oil pastels because they were kind of like crayons but better. They tried them on different types of paper but thought they got the best results with the sketch pad paper. They blended colors with their fingers and thought that was way better than crayons. I was here on a trip to visit them. They chose to use them occasionally but not constantly. Some of the color of the oil pastels got on their fingers while blending colors but washed off easily.I also tried the paper and pastels and was pleased with how easy they were to use and clean up. If a different color got on to another oil pastel, it cleaned up easily with a paper towel and it was good as new.
The cra-pas review is the same as this as they worked together.

    Sax Artist Sketch Diary
I dabble at pencil sketching for my own pleasure as a hobby. I have gotten sketch books before and I was very pleased with this particular one. This book had a double large spiral binding to hold it all together. It contained 100 pages of white 8.5″ x 11″ good quality sketch paper. This is labeled as a Sketch DIARY so, the paper is not perforated and is meant to stay in the notebook. I believe for this reason, the paper is a bit heavier or thicker. I happen to like this particular detail of the paper. It will enable picture sketching and also printing/writing on the page. Needless to say, I am very happy with this notebook. It will take some time for me to fill the entire notebook, but, I won’t hesitate to get another one should the need arise.

    Sax Artists Sketch Diary
This is a nice size sketch diary and at 100 sheets, allows for plenty of creativity. Being the standard 8.5 x 11 inches, it’s not too large for most any back pack, while still large enough to create some good sized sketches. The texture is smooth, which works well for pencil, charcoal and crayon. It is fairly light weight paper however, so I would not recommend it for paints of any type, as the paint would easily bleed through. This is a great product for kids that like to draw a lot, of a budding artist, and it is also a good way to keep all their work in one place too, what with the spiral binding. A more advanced artist might like this for quick ideas, but might want a better quality or more heavy duty paper for more permanent drawings.
Over all, yes, I do recommend this product.

    Good Bargain
This is a nice Sketch Diary.. It works for the purpose intended. The paper is not as heavy as some other sketch pads I have used, but it is certainly workable for most sketching projects. I did not find any significant deficits in the product and would definitely consider ordering again when I am looking for a sketch pad. I am afraid I do not have much to say about this particular product. It works but is not anything outstanding, good or bad.
