Working Fines
We usually pay for shredding. The price has skyrocketed to the point where it’s cheaper to buy these shredders and do it ourselves. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts, but has already paid for itself. It also shreds CDs, IDs, and credit cards, which I hated to take to shred stores. Bonus: the local animal shelter uses the shredded paper to line cages. 🙂

Little power horse!
I was not sure about buying this shredder at first. After purchasing at a great price, I soon discovered it was a bargain. Easily shreds 10 pieces although I usually do less. This little machine is a real worker, doesn’t overheat. Not too loud. Shred’s credit cards too. I had a popular brand similar to this one and had to return it because it jammed up all the time. Not this one. It is great! If you need a shredder, this is the one!

Overall Decent
Functional shredder, something I noticed though is that after some light use and 2 cards (credit card) it’s a bit louder than when I first used. Overall though I would say you can’t beat the price and simplicity of security with your information. Also love that I can roll it closer and out of the way when not needed.

Turns documents into cross cut confetti.
The box from Wal-Mart contained a shipping box, which contained a store box, with each piece wrapped in plastic and surrounded by cushions.
But the shredder works perfectly and turns documents into cross cut confetti.

Great little paper shredder.
I’ve been waiting for this to try it out. It took a while to get because of the virus and shiping. Well it came yesterday and I was able to put it together today and try it out. It says 10 sheets max, so I had a stack about 1” high of Financial papers that I had been waiting to shred. So I separated them in stacks from 1 to 10 pages each. I started at one page and buy the time I got to 6 sheets I could tell that it was starting work just a little harder. At 8 pages i could tell it was slowing down but at 10 pages there wasn’t much difference in the sound. I have used other shredders that were larger but this one does a good job. I finished the papers a few at a time as fast as I could put them in and never had a problem at all so I would definitely give it 2 thumbs up. On the bad side if you call it bad is where you put in the paper it could be just a little wider. It’s just a little wider than a sheet of paper so you have to line up the paper just right. One of the best thing’s I liked about it is you can put a plastic grocery store bag in it and catch all the clippings in it. Oh by the way the clippings are approximately 1 inch long by about 1/8 inch wide.

Purchased primarily for shredding CDs and DVDs , very difficult to feed standard paper into the shredding slot, feels like slot is not wide enough for a standard 8” wide sheet.
Shredding motor tends to run for a long time after a sheet is fed, preventing one from feeding another sheet.

Terrible Shredder
The shredder can only be used for 3 minutes and then you have to turn it off for 40 minutes. I know I am using the shredder for home use, but this is ridiculous. I used the shedder twice and then it stopped working.. Pen Gear is not in the shredder manufacturing business. Pen Gear makes pens, paper and folders. Pen Gear shouldNEVER venture into a market where you are clueless.

Not dependable!
I was shredding papers for the first time with this paper shredder that says it will do eight sheets at a time. It bound up after five sheets. It took me over an hour to get it going again. Now I only do two or three sheets at a time. I paid $40 for this paper shredder. It is the biggest waste of money. The $15 one I had before worked way better than this one -wish I would have kept it. Please take my advice and look for a different machine if you would like to be able to shred more than a few papers at a time.

Base Not Strong Enough to Hold Mechanism
I received the Pen + Gear 10-Page Shredder yesterday and I was excited to finally get a paper shredder to use for both for destroying important paperwork and also utilizing it for crafts. First off no assembly instructions but I figured it seemed pretty easy to assemble with only 3 base parts and four wheels. But as I was unpacking it I noticed that the bin was not packed correctly and when I went to put it together the unit would not fit together thereby not allowing the top mechanism to fit in properly. This is a cutting machine with a very wobbly and poorly made base to it and I decided it was unsafe and best not to use it that way and will be contacting the company.
