The Limited Edition S9000 Prestige SP9886/89 Wet & Dry Electric shaver with SenseIQ is by far the best of all. Comfort and closeness that can’t be beat!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used Philips/Norelco electric razors my entire adult life (over 50 years!), and I’ve never experienced such an amazing degree of comfort and closeness of shave as I have using the S9000 Prestige. It was a difficult decision for me to replace a 7000 series razor that I’d happily used for over 7 years (and was still performing “as new”) with an expensive “upgrade”, but I’m so glad I made that decision… Simply, a great razor!

Closest shave of any electric razor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver gives me the closest shave I have had with any electric razor. It is comfortable and fast. I did not think I would like the charging pad but I do it is very easy and convenient to use. I also like the cleaning system. It does remove beard residue as I have changed the cleaning fluid out and have seen how much residue has been collected on the bottom of the cleaner container. My hope is that the blades will last for two years though I suspect that the blade replacement reminder will activate after the first year of use.

This razor works amazingly well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a long-time Philips Shaver user (with a short, unpleasant trip to the “B” side). This razor is incredibly quiet, shaves incredibly well, and lives up to the hype.
I must say that I don’t much like how much plastic is “lateral” to the cutting heads since that makes it somewhat more difficult to shave up to a border. I have been able to cope with it, it just seems a bit awkward. I am disappointed that the trimmer is not “attached” to the razor, but that is a very minimal complaint.
I was very surprised, since I don’t shave everyday, at how well the razor cut through 3-day growth and did it with as much comfort as with 1-day growth! Truly a quality product. Highly recommended!

Very close, comfortable shave, but a bulky head
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver is definitely closer than my previous top-of-the-line Philips while being just as comfortable a shave. One problem: there is a GREAT DEAL of extra material surrounding the rotary housing. Those squared-off edges and extra size may look good, but it makes it VERY hard to shave up under the nose. My previous shaver had much less surrounding the cutting heads and so didn’t have that problem. Keeps me from being 100% thrilled with the product.

Better than many other brands
Closer shave was my key consideration. Having used Braun series 9, I can confirm that Phillips provides a closer shave. Much closer shave. No comparison.
Only drawback is lack of USB C charging. Though wireless charging us good and the charge lasts approx 2 weeks, travelling should be anxiety free if I know I can charge it using my phone charger.

Previous versions were better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The squareness of the rotor housing is too big making it difficult to get close around the nose and ear tragus. The squared housing appears to be for aesthetics. The housing around the rotors should be trimmed and should have a minimum distance from the edge of the rotor. This design seems as if the design team does not use electric razors. Previous versions were much better.

The ‘advances’ send this shaver backward.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t think the designers of this shaver actually tried it before putting it on the market. The first thing that is incredibly inconvenient is you have to pull the head off and put on the trimer and vice versa instead of just popping up the trimmer that is incorporated into the design of the older models. The head has about a half inch of space between each of the cutting blades and the outside edge, making it very difficult to shave under your nose and estimate the closeness of the blade to your sideburns, for example. They have incorporated technology just for the sake of doing so, without thought into why the tech would be helpful. You have to, for example, clean the heads in a separate device and solution so they can make more money from you purchasing those items. It takes an entire hour to charge this, verses 15 minutes for my older shaver and both last the same amount of time. Also, you cannot continue to shave while the shaver is plugged in, and yes I get the safety factor but we are all adults. The older shaving designs are so much more compact and efficient. I do not recommend this shaver.

Poor, unreliable, and un-fixable.
Despite its enormous price tag, the bottom bracket broke 2 years after the date of purchase, and, amusingly, Philips have no replacement for the part. This is a shockingly poor product by Philips. After 2 decades with Philips (and advocating for it), it is time to shift to Braun.
